My Mother loved to travel, and so growing up was kind of an adventure for me! Well when I was about 5 or 6, we had a Volkswagen pop-up camper, and we traveled a lot! My Mom & Dad would sleep in the back, my brother got the cot in the pop-up & I slept in the cot above the driver's seat!
Now that I have my own family, I really want my children to see the beauties of America! Mt. Rushmore, the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, the Rockies. I remember being in the Redwoods, and driving through a tree! Dec 9th when I was in NYC, I hopped on the subway and went to ground zero. It's one thing to see it on TV, but to be there in person made me speechless! I also walked across the street to Battery Park so I could get a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty. I got a little choked up because I was reminded about the things we Americans take for granted.. Liberty and Freedom! My Mother was a Swedish immigrant, and my Father a Canadian immigrant so it really hits home with me!
So my question for you is, how many states have I been to? And tell me where you have been, and what your favorite place is.

What an interesting question...my guess is 7 depending on how far north/south you went in the Rockies. It's wonderful that you had the great opportunity to travel as a child and want to instill that sense of discovery in your children. As a teacher of little ones I had the opportunity to see first-hand how enriching experiences boost curiosity and writing skills. You're giving your children a great gift. I've had the opportunity to travel down the entire E. Coast, and 4 other states, 4 European countries(when I was a teenager), and Canada. Loved the inspiring views from the mts. in Austria & Switzerland, the Green Mts. in Vermont, and Cadillac Mt. in Bar Harbor, Maine. My husband and I just love the serenity of New England, and are hoping to make a visit out West sometime in the near future along with an Alaskan cruise with our daughters.
Looking forward to tomorrow's question....Happy Anniversay, Caroline!
Hello Caroline and congratulations on reaching your one year anniversary on Etsy! What a wonderful place Etsy is- filled with such talent and great people!
It sounds like you have some wonderful childhood memories. I'm going to guess that you have visited 10 different states during your lifetime. I personally have visited ten states- all on the East coast and hope to be able to visit sunny California later this year.
Thanks!
Howdy Caroline!
I am going to guess 10 states. Its great to hear that you have such fond childhood memories. I have mostly travelled throughout my home state, TEXAS. I love it here! My favorite place to visit is Houston. Oh how I love Houston! It is so huge and fast paced. I love shopping there because I know I can find anything there. If you can't find it there then you can't find it anywhere. I could spend a lifetime searching for scrapbooking treasures there.
P.S. Congrats on your 1 year Etsy anniversary!
I am going to guess 11 states!
I have visited 8 states and my favorite place has always been the Grand Canyon in Arizona! I can't wait to take my own children there one day.
Happy 1st Anniversary!
