The Toledo Zoo field trip

I went with my daughter & her 3rd grade class today to the Toledo Zoo in Ohio. We were going on the 7th originally, but weather in the 30's would have been torture! :) What a difference 10 days makes! Clear blue skies today...the sun out....temp rising to 70 degrees...the animals in rare form, it was the perfect day!

The polar bears were great! I've never seen action like that at our Detroit zoo!

They were diving & splashing...even a little kiss kiss hehehe!Contemplation.....Hmmm...what's for dinner tonight? This gorilla was so funny playing peek-a-boo with Carson! (Too bad the glare was there)

Happy Easter!

We had a great day yesterday! The day started with a wonderful Easter program at church, reflecting on the people lives christ touched while on earth. After church a wonderful lunch with family & friends. On the menu was ham, potato salad, stuffed cabbage, sweet potatoes, triple bean salad, deviled eggs and yummy desserts.

I had to buy Martha Stewart's new craft book...naturally! Inside is a lovely spring cake with crepe paper snowdrops I knew I had to make for Easter! I didn't have time to find the special phyllo dough the nest called for, so I used chocolate shavings to start with. My 5 yr son then suggested the toffee licorice we bought at IKEA. What a smart little guy :)
